Water Filtration System consists of 2 basic type of water filter : Sediment Filter (1) & Activated Carbon Filter (2).
MECHANICAL FILTRATION
Mechanical filters, or microfiltration, removes suspended material from water including sand, silt, clay or organic matter. These filters do not remove dissolved or very fine particles and are often used in combination with other treatment equipment. Filters are commonly of fabric, fiber, ceramic or other screening material.
Contaminants Removed: Sediment ; rust, dirt & sand
ACTIVATED CARBON
Activated carbon filters absorb impurities from water as it passes through a carbon cartridge or tank. Such filters are used to eliminate or remove undesirable odors, tastes, organic compounds, and residual chlorine. Carbon filters also remove some potentially, hazardous contaminants such as radon gas, hydrogen sulfide, many dissolved organic chemicals and trihalomethanes. Most inorganic chemicals are not removed by these filters.
Contaminants Removed: Hydrogen Sulfide, Radon, Chlorine, Volatile Organic Compounds, Pesticides, Benzene, Colors, Odors.
How activated carbon filter works?
The Activated Carbon Filter attracts and holds certain chemicals as water passes through it. AC (Activated Carbon ) is a highly porous material; therefore, it has an extremely high surface area for contaminant adsorption .
AC consists of tiny clusters of carbon atoms stacked upon one another. The carbon source is a variety of materials, such as peanut shells or coal. The raw carbon source is slowly heated in the absence of air to produce a high carbon material. The carbon is activated by passing oxidizing gases through the material at extremely high temperatures. The activation process produces the pores that result in such high adsorptive properties
What is Ultra - Filtration System .
It consists of PP hollow fiber membrane . Which is one of the most important membrane separation materials in the world, with the quality properties of resistance to acid and alkali, high flow-rate, non-toxicity, no-taste and stable performance. The hollow fiber membrane with pore size of 0.01-0.2um can efficiently filter the micro-molecule substance in the solution out, such as particle, colloid materials, bacteria and virus, etc. It takes a very important role in the separation, concentration and purification, etc.
